8 Words : ALL GLORY TO GOD AND PRAISE THE LORD !!!! Semester 2 was a really tough for me since it is a short semester!! (I talked about it more on in my previous post). I was quite worried because my semester 1 result is mediocre and I really want to see more A's in my result page. Subject 1: Minor Instrument 2- Contemporary piano I posted quite a lengthy one about this subject on the previous post, so I'm going to skip it now :) Subject 2: Music Theory 1                                        * On a random note, this is totally innovative !! Honestly, I did not have much hope in Music Theory 1 as I never get really good results for theory...I passed my grade 5 Theory with 'Pass' which was in 2005 and well...My theory level is just until grade 5 unlike most of my classmates who mostly finished their grade 8 in Theory :( Also, I missed my A for Theory Rudiments which wa...

There are so many things to talk about my short semester and thus, I decided to break it into few parts...                                        Books, understanding, notes and memorizing  Honestly, I never know why my university have this super short semester. Okay..actually the main purpose is for internship..but seriously, 14 weeks of syllabus compressed to only 7 weeks is quite insane especially if your subject is quite heavy!!!! ('World Music', I'm looking at you). Nonetheless, I learnt so many things in just 1 1/2 months..          No worries..I can still (kinda) play the violin but not Vivaldi. That's too tough for me.. Previously, I took violin as my minor instrument because of three reasons : First, I perceived that as a classical major you cannot have a contemporary minor. Second, It looks cool carrying the instrument around (I ...

I really really love Debussy as a composer... His songs are really unique, dreamy and magical.. Last semester my friends told me "Cher!! did you know that one of Debussy songS have Gamelan influence?" (*we were talking about this because my friend's topic was Gamelan for her presentation while mine was Chinese music) I was shocked and super excited because I love songs which have the oriental Asian feel with Pentatonic scales etc ... * For those of you who don't know what a 'Gamelan' is... No worries :) I initially thought that Gamelan is an instrument....and mind you I am a music major so you know how fail I am omgosh..                                                          My 'perceived' Gamelan so laugh all you can lols XD I told my friend who is also a music major this and she said ''I used to think that way too until I saw ...

This is a typical beauty pageant question asked in most pageants you know..from big pageants to small pageants. Thus, it's been in my head for awhile. Somehow, I'm inspired to write more about my opinion on this because I just watched Miss Malaysia Chinese International (Miss Astro 2012) and one of the top 5 contestants answered :               " BEAUTY ..because if you are not beautiful, no matter how much you make up you will still look somewhat lacking somewhere" (In mandarin though lols XD) She have a point there...but somehow her answer sound superficial to many (especially my mum who was like " omgosh..she so dumb to give that answer should pick brain !! * and starts telling me how she'll answer =.=) because : First, it sounds shallow. Second, it's too short !! I know you have 30 seconds to answer !! But make that answer worth the 30 seconds !!! and yeah..because of that answer she missed the top 3 placing (what mum said lols).. So...

Tomorrow is a new beginning :) new semester , new interesting subjects and new minor instrument subject :D yay !! ;D Theory 1 is gonna be my first subject of this semester... I really hope I can score this time... Was really disappointed that I only got 77 for my finals for Theory Rud. when I expected an A or A+ :( I hope I still remember what I've learnt in semester 1 lols XD * BTW , the picture above is not theory...it's Schenkerian analysis haha XD Did one assignment on recreating those odd-looking notes for MIDI and notation way back in semester 1 haha XD found out that Shenkerian analysis is not a prank ( we all thought that our lecturer was fooling with us lols ) but a Master Degree's subject 0.0 WORLD MUSIC is the subject that I look forward to the most ...but honestly , I am still unsure what is it about...it's either 1 ) music of the world  OR 2) the genre...

Somehow I expect this to come... I thought maybe China might just place in the finals but winning MISS WORLD .. I'm shocked...                                                           Yu Wenxia , Miss World 2012 She is pretty... ( maybe not in my books ) but that's it.. She don't have the aura and charisma that her predecessors have... She is ordinary and I just feel no charisma oozing from her... It's like...seeing a beautiful girl on the street then fullstop.. Perhaps her win is planned because Miss China was crowned in Ordos, CHINA ( Miss World 2012 )  itself =.= Some said that Miss World is rigged because Miss World 2007 was held in Sanya, China and Zhang Zilin from China was the winner..                                     ...

Woah ! I cannot believe that my last post was way back in May when I was starting my semester in UCSI. See how time flies, it's August already a.k.a HOLIDAY ( okay..it's ending soon ) and I'm starting my new semester next week yay :)                                                        Oh well, maybe not a beach holiday :( Semester 1 have been a really busy yet enriching semester for me. Everything is so real to me when I first stepped into UCSI's music faculty block then WHAM!!! it is my dream come true!! I have been going there countless times to watch various performances and graduation recitals and now I'm here...wow...it's really an amazing feeling :D Imagine, everyday you hear amazing music, classical, jazz etc... it's like heaven on earth :) ...and well, that's what I experience every single day :D         ...
