You know what ?

I'm not a Singaporean..
But i'm feeling the heat of the general election there...
I saw my cousin's status saying that he can't hear the reporter's voice outside the stadium because everyone is shouting...

Many want PAP ( the incumbent party of Singapore) to step down...
some said that PAP is too arrogant...
AND many want a change of government to offset many problematic issues
such as : expensive land / house / property , the older generation have less opportunity and job competition with foreigners and PR

These issues are brought up repeatedly by the opposition party...

However , I felt that "expensive land" is not really a good reason..
Singapore is REALLY small..
and the population is EXPANDING RAPIDLY... !! ( they are actually quite over-populated ) ..
Basic economics : Scarce resource ( here = land ) and so many people ( high demand ) , ceteris paribus =voila... EXPENSIVE HOUSES AND PROPERTIES !!

I'm NOT a Singaporean...
But I felt that their government are somewhat quite okay in handling the election ...
PAP commented that if they lose in the 2011 general election ,
the people will have 5 years to regret on their decision..

wow...quite mild..and subtle

Compared to Malaysia...
The incumbent party always resort to various means ( such as talking bad of other opposition parties and reporting on some highly questionable issues - such as the sex video which so-called featured Anuar in newspapers )
( Saw the picture on newspaper and the guy doesn't look like him..
I don't believe in Malaysian newspapers too readily anymore...
It's just like another propaganda device...

However , you know what ?
I just don't care about government anymore...
I'm interested in reading political issues..
but it is a very deceiving field...
It's like...many things are planned and staged...

So what if the OPPOSITION party take over the incumbent party ?
Change might happen for awhile and then disappear and they will corrupt and will revert back to how the ex-incumbent party act....( since finally they know how it feels to be in their shoes )
Sometimes it is easy for the opposition to point fingers at the incumbent party...
( It is always fun to be the one who DISAGREES than to be the one who AGREES - that happens in debate a lot ) ...

And the Incumbent party would say that the Opposition party are bringing up issues just to get votes...
Half true...but most issues ( like in Singapore ) are actually real issues
( Malaysia ....i think they just wanna dab with the " race / sensitive " issues game )

Honestly , I don't believe in politics..
But I find that to read and understand politics are a fun thing to do lols xD

I remember " Someone important " from our incumbent party in our country said a really " memorable " quote

" We want power for the people "

Hmm...sounds very " Democratic" -aye ?
So what do you think ?
