Implementing new system into Miss Malaysia Universe

For the first time,
I can't wait to watch Miss Universe 2011...

I felt that Malaysia might have better chances in winning the crown this year..
ok..maybe not the crown...but semi-finalist and finalist perhaps...?
or even TOP 3 !!

My mum don't really favour her ( I think she prefers previous Miss Malaysia Universe from 2009 , 2008 and all ....perhaps they are her friends that's why )..
She even added why she even bother to join Miss Malaysia Universe 2011 since she've already joined Miss Malaysia World 2007 and all...

I prefer her to be back in the pageant scene though :)

I like her confidence and her witty speech...
she sounded more confident and wise compared to previous miss Malaysia Universe....

Im really liking the new Miss Malaysia Universe concept ( hip.urban.real )..
I noticed that the girls they picked now are not as beauty pageant-ish as last time...
it's more Hip , Urban and Real ,
like last year's winner ,
Nadine Ann Thomas

I read in an interview that she did not plan to join the pageant at first , because she felt that she does not have the pageant material and all..
However , after they changed concept ,
she felt that the theme match her more ( hip.urban.real ) ...
because it's more realistic and etc...not very fairytale-ish ( like those miss malaysia universe we see in the past...pretty faces..yet...not very good in speech and posture and all...or even vice versa ) ...

I saw last year's finalists and the new theme ...
it's more modern and vogue...
which is relevant in our current world..
very updated and still keeping the pageant format
not like previous ones...

the standards of finalists are higher as well...
which can be good because that increases the chance of Malaysia getting a shot in Miss Universe
( normally , people wouldn't notice Malaysia in Miss Universe , but last year , Nadine kinda stole some attention and made some heads turn...so yeah..good sign...)

however ,
I personally noticed that there are some flaws in the new standards ..
The girls they choose are prettier and are confident and all...
however , most girls choosen are usually of mix parentage...
or they have really sharp features and are mostly taller than 165cm ...*sighs*
Not to be racist or what..but indians have higher chances too because of their sharp features and slender nice body...

and even though a lot of Chinese girls won in the past..they are mix too

Levy Li ( Miss Malaysia Universe 2008 ) : Chinese-Siamese ( like me.haha.)
Joannabelle ( Miss Malaysia Universe 2009 ) : Chinese-Indian-Sabah minority race ( pretty but she needs to work on her speech )
Andrea Fonseka ( Miss Malaysia Universe 2004 ) : she's mix..Chinse-Eurasian ( her mom
was the only winner who made it into Miss Universe semi-finalist ) wow..

and yeah... many complained that too many chinese are selected..
and they don'thave sharp features and all...

so yeah...with the new system..
mix parentage people are so blessed because they usually go for the exotic look
( exotic look is in...)
they are so lucky coz in the past they are actually looked down on by other people...saying that they are
" zhap zhong " ...so bad rite...

but now , it's really the time for them to shine...
I hope I have the chance to shine too...
but not in Miss Malaysia Universe or World though lols...
i'm JUST NOT mix enough * giggles * XD
