This semester has to be one of the most tedious semesters ever. Even though the subjects I took were lesser than my first semester, but now, being a Year 2 Sem 1 student, the subjects are getting harder than ever. 1. Aural Skills 2 Aural Skills 2 is way tough compared to Aural Skills 1!! Honestly, Aural 1 for me was easy and I usually lose marks when I was careless on certain things. However, Aural Skills 2 is mad! On a scale of 10 (easy to difficult), Aural 1 is 3 and Aural 2 is 7!! Such a big jump! The syllabus between both subjects has a very wide difficulty gap as well. What TZP told me last semester was true: Aural 2 is WAYYY harder! However, we are blessed to have Miss J to teach us Aural Skills 2 :) She is really good at teaching us this subject ( better than Miss L for Aural 1) but the downside is that she is VERY PARTICULAR, PERFECT PITCH, VERY STRICT IN MARKING and VERY PRECISE!!! If you are slightly slower/ faster...she'll notice it. Hence, we can't 'chea...

Hello blog, I'm back after so long. Have been really occupied with uni stuff that I don't even have time to blog even though I really want to!! Year 2 semester 1 have been a really great semester for me, I managed to accomplished 90% of my goals this semester which is crazy !! God gave so many opportunities to me when I least expected it to happen. I'm just so touched. So many things happened this semester which I don't think ONE blog post can fit!! it's a mixture of fun, happy, blessed, sad, angry, basically a mixture of everything.. I guess I'll blog one by one then :) I guess I'll called it the 'SEMESTER RANDOM RANTS' series :)

Wow !! It's been so long since I last blog.. I'm really THAT busy 0.0 It felt like I just took jury last week, and my next jury is coming soon in around...1 month 1 week? I'm so blessed that I achieved one of my goals this semester..and so fast lols !! Really Thank God :) Will blog more about those soon XD just finished recording for Aural..and now i'm chilling forawhile.. CME midterms tomorrow...gonna wear that same orange dress with my partner haha XD Have been performing that song for three weeks ady lols.. and we are only practising tomorrow... Hopefully we pull it through...coz we played that song too many times already haha XD On a random note, I really love After School's new song, the MV and the dance ! They don't look slutty doing pole dancing but those moves are more to acrobatic side ! Really love it whey ! :D LOVING NANA TOO :D She is my favourite After School member :D So pretty :D I love her confidence haha XD

See the video above!!!! Finally finished our Music Tech final project last Saturday... Omgosh...nobody will know how hectic we are unless you are a music student taking this subject with other research papers, history papers etc omgosh... Even though the sound effect turned out not to our expectation, but it was amazing to see them pull off amazingly.. I'm so proud of my stage crew, inventory crew and sound engineers T.T nobody knows how much effort and work we put into the stage layout, miking, controlling the consoles etc.. and yeah I'm da group leader so I have to know everything.. *WE DID ALL THESE WITHIN 5 DAYS!!* and of course, Sylvester, Aaron and Audrey who collaborated for the very first time only for our project :) and A actually made me fell in love with this song because of his voice... *was actually better during rehearsals ...maybe coz our the voice effect prob T.T Hope my lecturer will only deduct very little marks for it :( On a random note,...

I'm not good with creating blog titles, but if you are lazy to read the post, that sentence practically summarized what I'm going and going to go through for these 8 days.  I'm busy studying for exams, doing Chapter 2 of my group's research paper and on top it, Music Tech 1 journal, rehearsals and Final project for this Saturday.. I wonder why lecturers love to cramp all due dates in an EXAM week... =.=  1) Research paper due Friday. I really need to kick my members' butt to keep them moving ady.. 2) Music tech rehearsals on Friday. I have to know everything from wiring to mixer to stage, to communication with performers.. I'm gonna have my so-called mini piano exam tomorrow @.@ Gautim-ed 'One Note Samba' with tempo=200  Quite an achievement for me since my sense of rhythm is REALLY BADDDDD but the good ole' 'The Girl From Ipanema' improvisation is driving me to the wall... Lecturer just taught me basic improvisation and this week he wants my improvisation in quavers, semiquavers, triplets etc @.@  I somehow can manage to improvise a bit..but can't help to get panicked in the middle... listening to improvisations on Youtube now... I was playing my Mozart Sonata in class today while my lecturer hears it. When I Finished playing, he said this: "Chermaine, you have come a long way since semester 1.. Now you have more musicality and control rather than playing all loud. You actually showed musicality in this fast piece!! If you can play this in jury, the comment will be 'well-prepared'. Though it may not be perfect as every performers will make a mistake somewhere, but this is really good. Good job. Seriously, when I heard this.. I suddenly felt proud of myself and super touched... I can't believe my ears and it is good to see improvement..it's good to hear something that I've been wanting to hear from a professional :') Thank God :) I hope my confidence can be increased Even more :) *pats myself on the back :)

8 Words : ALL GLORY TO GOD AND PRAISE THE LORD !!!! Semester 2 was a really tough for me since it is a short semester!! (I talked about it more on in my previous post). I was quite worried because my semester 1 result is mediocre and I really want to see more A's in my result page. There are so many things to talk about my short semester and thus, I decided to break it into few parts...                                        Books, understanding, notes and memorizing  Honestly, I never know why my university have this super short semester. Okay..actually the main purpose is for internship..but seriously, 14 weeks of syllabus compressed to only 7 weeks is quite insane especially if your subject is quite heavy!!!! ('World Music', I'm looking at you). Nonetheless, I learnt so many things in just 1 1/2 months..          No worries..I can still (kinda) play the violin but not Vivaldi. That's too tough for me.. Tomorrow is a new beginning :) new semester , new interesting subjects and new minor instrument subject :D yay !! ;D Theory 1 is gonna be my first subject of this semester... I really hope I can score this time... Woah ! I cannot believe that my last post was way back in May when I was starting my semester in UCSI. See how time flies, it's August already a.k.a HOLIDAY ( okay..it's ending soon ) and I'm starting my new semester next week yay :)                                                        Oh well, maybe not a beach holiday :( Semester 1 have been a really busy yet enriching semester for me. Everything is so real to me when I first stepped into UCSI's music faculty block then WHAM!!! it is my dream come true!! I have been going there countless times to watch various performances and graduation recitals and now I'm here...wow...it's really an amazing feeling :D Imagine, everyday you hear amazing music, classical, jazz etc... it's like heaven on earth :) ...and well, that's what I experience every single day :D         ...

It was pure awesomeness :D Even though I was in the university for 10+ hours , I made so so many friends and lessons are fun :) ( though certain subjects will be a challenge for me ) But , I have the confidence that I can cope this semester well :D (DON'T ask me why because I don't know ) ( though many people said that i'm crazy to take 8 subjects this semester XD ) Honestly , I did felt small...Some took ATCL , some are gonna take LTCL , some still have private classes... and me  ? (I've stopped taking any individual lessons since early 2010 because I used to think that law will future profession ,but then I noticed that even though I really love it ( I don't mind taking double degree in law and music but unfortunately Malaysia don't offer such thing and it will be crazy expensive abroad , I never like the job scope ( of being a lawyer ) and it was actually my way of escaping my passion + my fear = taking music as my main thing..) and I was in an unk...

Tomorrow is officially my 1st day as a Music degree student :) It's gonna be busy and interesting lols... I'm taking 8 subjects this semester... Hopefully I won't regret this :) * this = too many subjects Today officially marks my last 'rest' day after 4 months of being 'Idle' ( well though I teach part-time but still my weekdays are empty ) I'm soooo gonna busy days ahead :) I wish myself all the best :D
